A major player in Italian politics, Aldo Moro, is kidnapped and murdered by terrorists. After receiving a film of the crime, which sheds a new and dangerous light on the evidence, retired judge Donald Sutherland  is compelled to investigate.

Five Moons Square was nominated for awards for Best Cinematography and Best Original Score at the Golden Globes, Italy.
